Abstract: | The objectives of this research are (1) to study the 21st Century Skills of the employees in the Provincial Electricity Authority Region 1 (Northern Region) (2) to compare and assess the readiness of the 21st Century Skills of the employees (3) to study the human resource development guidelines of the employees according to the 21st Century Skills. This research is quantitative research with the 339 employees from 2,234 people who work for the Provincial Electricity Authority Region 1, which was calculated according to the Taro Yamanae formula. The questionnaire was used as the research methodology, in which the researcher studied from the concepts, theories, academic documents, dissertations, research, and articles related to the 21st Century Skills as a guideline in writing questionnaires. Moreover, data analysis using statistical software is frequency distribution, mean, percentage, and standard deviation. The results showed that the overall employees in the Provincial Electricity Authority Region 1 have a high level of the 21st Century Skills with an average of 3.82. In which the skills that the employees have the most are communication and media literacy skills (mean 3.92), followed by work, learning, and self-reliance (mean 3.88) cooperation skills teamwork and leadership and critical thinking skills and problem solving (mean 3.85), equal skills change (mean 3.82) computer and information technology and communication (mean 3.75) and creative and innovation skills (average 3.67) respectively. By the way human resource development methods consistent with the skills of the 21st century should start with the recruitment and selection of personnel to obtain staff knowledgeable the ability in sufficient quantities must be consistent with the needs of the organization. And match the performance of the position specified and the organization must develop knowledge, including the development of technological innovation capabilities so that employees are ready to adapt to the changes that occur and applied to work standardized and consistent with the skills of the 21st century |
