Abstract: | This research aims for three objectives as following: 1) survey consciousness comprised of concern, recognition, perspective, and performance in waste management of whom students in Faculty of Law, Chiang Mai University 2) to compare these students’ attitudes of consciousness to which their concern, recognition, perspective, and performance concerning waste management (i.e., separate and dump the trash) between these group of students before and after they participate in developing activities that create consciousness of separation and dumping the trash 3) to study the process of collaboration among the administration, the faculties, staff, and students of the Faculty of Law toward waste management according to their mandate which establishes in the primary mission The research methodology of this study applied quantitative research, and semi-experiment integrates with qualitative research. For the quantitative research, this study used sampling from a population of 286 law students, and in the semi-experiment, this study used 80 law students voluntarily participated in the consciousness development process. While for the qualitative research, the researcher interviewed groups of the participants 29 individuals as the administration, faculty, staff, and students in the Faculty of Law. As a result, the study found, first, the level of consciousness of the students in the Faculty of Law in general at the high level (average of 4.15). When considering line items, the study found that their concern about waste management was the highest among the study (average 4.36). For recognition and perspective contained the same number (average 4.25). Lastly, the performance of waste management was above the mean (average 3.87). Second, in terms of comparison of the level of consciousness of the testing students who joined the consciousness development process, between before and after the process, the study found the significance of the improvement at the level of 0.05. Third, the process of collaboration among the target groups of the administration, faculties, staff, and students in waste management has four points. The first factor started with encouraging the collaboration that made everyone can see the importance of waste management. The second factor was regulating policy and guidelines to form practical collective action. The third factor was building cooperation to resolve the waste management of the organization. Moreover, the last factor was creating trust among everyone in the faculty. Fourth, the factors that led to the achievement of the collaboration among the administration, faculties, staff, and students in waste management as the set goal in the mission of the Faculty of Law is the leadership, policy, and consciousness. |
