Abstract: The objective of this independent study was to investigate the participation of DoiPui population for the tourist resource management by villagers and interest groups in charge of tourist resource management in the community. As a result, it helped boost the tourism and an influx of tourists, which brought revenues to the community. All the parties, including community leaders, interest groups, and people who played a key role in the local economy, created more cooperation in the community. The cooperation was given not only by a group for tourism resource management, but also by other community members. It was the way for the community and people to coexist through their participation in the economic development for their sustainability. This study was based on the quantitative and qualitative process through the study of relevant documents and data collection from the target area. These included an observation and interview with the community leaders concerning the tourism resource management. According to the study results, there were a few numbers of people who were unable to access to the tourism resource management despite the participation of DoiPui community because such management was usually conducted by people in the same family. Nevertheless, the participation in the tourism resource management in this village enabled people to feel satisfactory with what they obtained and the benefits for their community brought by the tourism resource management. It was beyond the benefits for only their own group but for the community’s economy. They realized that this resource management would make the community sustainably self-reliant. The roles of interest groups 1. The community leaders and leaders of interest groups had conflict thoughts both in their own community and among the leaders of interest groups. However, these were not intense. 2. The leaders of interest groups raised some conflicts over the budget managed by the integrated administration. However, they were able to compromise each other through a decision made by the community leaders to allow any interest group to gain the benefits so as to prevent the conflicts. The roles of participation People in the area became aware of the role of community members. When they were assigned by the community or required to work for the community, they would do it with full capacity despite the fact that they did not obtain any benefits. They kept doing it due to an awareness of being a community member to make the community neat and clean to welcome the tourists. Therefore, all the people in DoiPui community were willing to provide their participation which would eventually promote the community’s economy for sustainability.
