ปัจจัยอุปสรรคและปัจจัยสนับสนุนต่อการคงอยู่ในระบบของผู้บำบัดด้วยเมทาโดนระยะยาว ในพื้นที่ทุรกันดารของประเทศไทย

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study barriers and supporting factors towards one-year retention to Methadone Maintenance Therapy (MMT) in the perspective of MMT recipients at Wiang Haeng Hospital, Chiang Mai Province. Wiang Haeng is a remote mountainous area, at Myanmar Thailand border. Most of the population are ethnic minorities who do not have Thai nationality. There is a problem of MMT recipients missing their MMT appointment, resulting in poor compliance and high relapse to addiction. This research was a qualitative study. Data was collected through in-depth, semi-structured interviews. Interview questions were developed from the risk environment framework, Health Belief Model, and shared decision-making model. Key informants included a group of 6 good-compliance MMT recipients, a group of 5 poor-compliance MMT recipients and a group of 3 community leaders. Data were analyzed by content analysis from the recipient’s perspective. The interviews were taken between 1 August 2022 to 30 April 2023.
