Abstract: The objectives of this study were to: 1) Examine the conditions and problems related to the administration of the student support system aimed at preventing dropout issues at Chiang Mai Technical College; 2) Investigate guidelines for managing the student support system in vocational education based on best practices; and 3) Develop and review guidelines for the administration of the student support system to prevent dropout problems at Chiang Mai Technical College. The study involved three steps: 1) Studying Conditions and Problems: This phase involved examining the conditions and problems of the student support system at Chiang Mai Technical College. The study targeted 150 individuals selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with frequency (ƒ), mean (μ), and standard deviation (σ). 2) Investigating Best Practices: This phase focused on exploring best practices for managing student support systems in vocational education to prevent dropout problems. The target group included nine individuals: school administrators, heads of counseling or career guidance departments, and advisory teachers. Data were collected through interviews, analyzed using analytic induction, and presented using descriptive analysis. 3) Developing and Reviewing Guidelines: This phase involved creating and reviewing guidelines for the student support system at Chiang Mai Technical College. The target group consisted of experts selected through purposive sampling, including school administrators, heads of advising departments, advisory teachers, educational supervisors from the Office of Vocational Education Commission, and psychologists. Data were collected through interviews, analyzed using content analysis, and reviewed for accuracy, appropriateness, and feasibility. The analysis utilized mean (μ) and standard deviation (σ). The results of the study found that 1) Conditions and problems in the student support system at Chiang Mai Technical College operates at a moderate level. The highest average score in operational conditions was in promoting student development, while the lowest was in student screening. Problems with the system were found to be significant, with the highest average score in prevention and problem-solving, and the lowest in promoting student development. 2) Best Practices: Effective practices in student support management include Understanding Individual Students: Utilizing diverse methods to gather student information, employing appropriate tools and forms, and maintaining systematic and up-to-date records. Student Screening: Implementing a systematic screening plan, clearly defined grouping, and maintaining confidentiality. Promotion and Development: Creating projects and activities aligned with needs, involving all student groups and their parents. Prevention and Problem Solving: Ensuring equal attention to all learners, coordinating with parents, businesses, dormitories, and relevant agencies, and enhancing counseling skills for advisors and related staff. Referrals: Establishing a clear referral system, analyzing student problems before referral, educating teachers, counselors, and parents about the referral process, and ensuring continuous coordination within and outside the institution., and 3) Guidelines for managing the student support system to prevent dropout problems Chiang Mai Technical College consists of principles and reasons, objectives, and guidelines for operating the student support system. and conditions for success and the results of the examination of the guidelines are effective in terms of accuracy, appropriateness, and feasibility. Passed the specified evaluation criteria in all aspects.
