Abstract: | This research has two objectives: (1) to study the relationship between work from home, job autonomy, and happiness at work, and (2) to examine the mediating role of job autonomy in the relationship between work from home. The research design is correlational. The sample consists of 340 private company employees with working from home experience. The research instruments include a personal characteristics questionnaire, a work from home questionnaire, a job autonomy questionnaire, and a happiness at work questionnaire. Data analysis involved calculating Pearson correlation coefficients, multiple regression analysis using Baron and Kenny's (1986, cited in Kenny, 2014) Causal Steps method, and Sobel’s test for the final step. The research findings are as follows: 1. Work from home significantly predicts happiness at work at the .001 level, with a coefficient of .400. 2. Job autonomy significantly predicts happiness at work at the .001 level, with a coefficient of .311. 3. Work from home significantly predicts job autonomy at the .001 level, with a coefficient of .213. 4. Working from home predicts happiness at work among private sector employees, with job autonomy partially mediating the relationship. |
