Abstract: | This research aims to study the Health Belief Model of Undergraduate Students Ceasing Mindfulness Practice and employs a qualitative case study research design. The informants are five undergraduate students from Chiang Mai University who were enrolled in the academic years 2020 and 2021, and had previous experience with mindfulness practice but currently choose not to continue. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using content analysis. The findings of the study reveal that: 1) the informants perceived stress from uncertain situations 2) the informants felt physical and emotional discomfort due to stress. 3) the informants acknowledge the advantages of mindfulness practice. 4) the informants perceived barriers to mindfulness practice, including: 4.1) the negative feeling and attitude towards mindfulness practice caused by a rigid practical experience as well as being criticized and forced by the school and family, and 4.2) there is lack of mindfulness practice understanding because they believe that mindfulness practice has fixed rules, procedures and methods. Occasionally, the formalized practice brings pain and tiredness and consumes the daily time 5) the informants recognize stimuli for mindfulness practice. 6) the informants recognize their abilities to practice mindfulness. |
