Abstract: This independent study aims to examine the quality of work life of employees at Provincial Electricity Authority, Tak province and the relationship between demographic characteristics and the quality of work life of employees at Provincial Electricity Authority, Tak province. The demographic characteristics considered include the affiliated agency, gender, marital status, age, education level, duration of employment, job position, and average monthly compensation, applying Walton’s (1973) 8 components of quality of work life: (1) adequate and fair compensation, (2) safe and healthy working conditions, (3) immediate opportunity to use and develop human capacities, (4) future opportunity for continued growth and security, (5) social integration in the work organization, (6) constitutionalism in the work organization, (7) work and the total life space, and (8) the social relevance of work life. Data were collected using questionnaires from 125 employees at Provincial Electricity Authority, Tak province. Descriptive statistics such as frequency and percentage were used to describe demographic data and quality of work life information. Crosstabs analysis was employed to explore the relationships between demographic characteristics and the quality of work life of employees at Provincial Electricity Authority, Tak province. The study found that most of the employees were affiliated with Provincial Electricity Authority, Tak province, were male, married or living together, aged 31-40, held a bachelor’s degree, had been working for 5 years or less, held an academic or professional staff position at levels 4-7, and had an average monthly compensation of 20,001-40,000 baht. The study results indicate that the overall quality of work life of employees at Provincial Electricity Authority, Tak province was perceived at a high level. The factor with the highest level of perception was the social relevance of work life, followed by social integration in the work organization, immediate opportunity to use and develop human capacities, future opportunity for continued growth and security, work and the total life space, constitutionalism in the work organization, safe and healthy working conditions, and adequate and fair compensation, respectively.
