Abstract: Orthopaedic publications are increasing in number and in collaboration. This study aimed to investigate interdisciplinary and international collaboration of orthopaedic research published between January 2010 and October 2019. A dataset of 104,160 orthopaedic articles from 3,922 journals was retrieved from the MEDLINE database. An authorship analysis was performed. A network collaborative visualisation network was developed. The average number of authors, institutes, and countries per article of the top-50 journals by were 4.56, 1.23, and 2.1, respectively. Collaboration parameters have been increasing year by year and also increasing within the in higher-ranking journal quartile. However, higher-ranking journals had a higher number of non-orthopaedic authors. Interdisciplinary and international collaborations in orthopaedic publications are increasing year by year, and interdisciplinary collaboration is growing in higher-ranking orthopaedic journals. This study also proposes a novel method used for the extraction, analysis, and visualisation of bibliometric study in MEDLINE, in order to address the limitations of previous studies.
