Abstract

Road construction projects of Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization (CMPAO) often have to suffer problems and obstacles that negatively affect the projects. There are several factors for the CMPAO to select the projects to do during each fiscal year. In this research, risk identification and risk assessment of highway construction are the research objectives. Then the risk mitigation and risk control are retrieved. The research methodology is to gather risk factors from previous research combining with questionnaires from experts in CMPAO. Then the risk factors were assessed by 34 people in owner side (governmental) and 20 people from general contractors(private). The assessment questionnaires are the risk assessments on the scale of 1-5 on risk likelihood and risk impact. The results were used to calculated construction risks of the CMPAO. Then the most top three risk factors were further analysis for risk mitigation and risk control by using questionnaires toe the stakeholders and experts in the field. The results shows the top high risks are legal and environmental factor, budget factor, and operational factor.
