Abstract

The purposes of this research were to compare English reading ability of students before and after applying active learning and to study English writing ability of students after applying active learning. The target group was 15 Prathom Suksa 5 students who enrolled in English (Eng.15101) in the second semester of the academic year 2021 at Banpongtham School, Wang Nuea District, Lampang Province. The research instrument consisted of 9 English active learning lesson plans. The data collecting instruments were English reading ability test and English writing ability assessment form. The data obtained was analyzed for mean, standard deviation, and percentage. The findings of this research were as follows: 1. The students’ English reading ability was higher after applying active learning. 2. The students’ English writing ability after applying active learning passed the pre-set criteria of 50%.
