Abstract: Emerging infectious diseases are infectious diseases whose occurrence has recently increased during the past 20 years or incline to increase in the near future. These also include the diseases that newly emerge somewhere or have just spread to another place, as well as the ones that were previously controlled with antibiotics but have developed antimicrobial resistance. The examples of emerging infectious diseases are AIDS and MDR-TD. Re-emerging infectious diseases are infectious diseases that have once spread out in the past, became dormant for many years, and then came back again. The examples of re-emerging infectious diseases are Tuberculosis, Dengue fever, and Malaria. This research and development study aimed to develop a disease surveillance detection system for public health strategic information management from communicable diseases in Chiang Mai Province and to study the feasibility of a disease surveillance detection system for public health strategic information management from communicable diseases in Chiang Mai Province. The study was divided into 3 phases: 1) Situational analysis, 2) Implementation, and 3) Evaluation. The sample groups were selected using purposive sampling, including 1) Situational analysis sample group: 12 disease surveillance officers situated in Chiang Mai Province, and 2) Implementation and Evaluation sample group: 14 public health strategic information officers and personnel related to disease surveillance in Chiang Mai Province. The instrument used was a feasibility questionnaire on the use of a disease surveillance detection system for public health strategic information management from communicable diseases in Chiang Mai Province. As for the feasibility of using the disease surveillance detection system for public health strategic information management from communicable diseases in Chiang Mai Province, the public health strategic information officers rated most of the aspects moderate to highest. However, the ease of use on the appropriate use of color, form, and font size, and the data security on the error alert system were rated low. It is worth noting that the ease of use on the accuracy of menu data linking was rated high and highest only and had the highest frequency of comments of the program. Regarding the efficiency on concise and easy-to-understand data display, the score frequency was high, equaling to 71.4 percent, followed by data security on usage limit system according to the level of user rights which obtained a high score equaling to 64.3 percent, and usability on the program’s ease of use which obtained a high score equaling to 64.3 percent. When considering the feasibility of using COVID-19 data management support system of Chiang Mai Province among the personnel, it was found that the feasibility of using the system was rated from moderate to highest. In terms of the ease of use on the appropriate screen layout was rated the highest, equaling to 50.0 percent. Overall, most aspects were rated high, ranging from 58.3 to 70.8 percent, except for the data effectiveness and the appropriate program execution sequence which were rated moderate, high, and highest closely to each other and should be developed further. It could be seen that the score of the overall feasibility of using every program of COVID-19 data management support system of Chiang Mai Province ranged from moderate to highest. There might be some issues in each program that need to be developed and further improved.
