Abstract: This independent study aims to 1) study consumer behavior towards payment via the QR payment system of generation X and generation Y in Chiang Mai province during the situation of coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic and 2) compare the customer's behavior between generation X and generation Y on the QR code payment in Chiang Mai during the COVID19 pandemic. The study collects data from the questionnaire collected during the last 6 months. The Convenience Sampling Technique was applied. The data concluded that 400 people which categorized as 200 people in generation X (born from 1965 to 1980) and 200 people in generation Y (born from 1981 to 2000). The statistics including frequency, percentage, and average are used to analyze the data and test the hypothesis by the Chi-Square method. The results found that most of the responders in generation X. Most of the respondents were female, married/lived together, have a bachelor's degree, work for a private company, and have a salary between 15,000 and 25,000 THB. Generation Y was female, single, had a bachelor's degree, work for a private company, and have a salary between 15,000 and 25,000 THB. The compared generation X and generation Y in Chiang Mai during the epidemic situation of Corona 2019 before the epidemic situation of Corona 2019, the frequency of payments via the QR code system during the epidemic situation, and products and services that are paid via the QR Code system used. The most frequent services differed at a level of statistical significance of 0.05.
