Abstract: This research aimed to 1) synthesize factors leading to the success of managing home school education from related studies and 2) to study approaches of home school education which leads to successful education using cross-impact analysis. The population involved the studies concerning the management of home school education from 2000 to 2017. The research tool was a research characteristics recorder and a questionnaire for the experts regarding factors the management of home school education that leads to educational success. The data was then analyzed using descriptive statistics, content analysis, meta-ethnography, and cross impact analysis. It was found that there were 29 related studies. Most of the research was qualitative research done by master-degree students. The majority aimed to study the management and the development of home school education. Informants were mostly parents. The tools used to collect data were questionnaires and interview sheets. The data collected was analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. According to the synthesis, it was found that in the aspect of the educators two factors influenced the management of home school education: 1) the educators believe that their love and determination can manage home school education (7 approaches); and 2) the educator put all their effort in preparing lessons and activities for the learners (6 approaches). In the of the characteristics of the education, two factors impacted the management of home school education: 1) the curriculum and the content are flexible and respond to the development, the needs, and the interests of the learners (6 approaches); and 2) the curriculum aims for learners to be able to apply what they learn in real life according to their aptitudes and interests (4 approaches). Learners-wise, four factors influenced the management of home school education: 1) the learners demonstrate self-awareness, sympathy for others, and understanding of changes in situations and the environment (6 approaches); 2) the learners strive to improve themselves (6 approaches); 3) the learners demonstrate disciplines (5 approaches); and 4) the learners show responsible towards themselves and the society (5 approaches). In the aspect of the network and collaboration, one factor impacted the management of home school education: 1) a network of home school educators is established for exchanging information, for example, creating a home school website or a web board where parents can plan activities and lessons together (1 approach). Last but not least, in the aspect of the governmental agencies, one factor affected the management of home school education: 1) the governmental agencies are knowledgeable and understand how to manage home school education (22 approaches).
