Abstract: This research aimed to p) analyze the private training courses, 2) analyze the private training course process, and 3) analyze the characteristics of trained privates. The research was divided into 3 phases Phase 1: Studying 4 private training courses by document analysis to decompose course components for key information; Phase 2: Studying and analyzing the private training course process by 25 persons involved in the private training courses; and Phase 3: The characteristics of trained privates. The data was collected from 526 privates of Shift 2 in 2018, who had been on active service for 2 years from p November 2018 to 31 October 2020. The instruments included 1) a course report and analysis form, 2) an interview form about the private training course process, and 3) a questionnaire of the characteristics of privates. The descriptive statistics were used for data analysis, such as frequency, percentage, SD, skewness, kurtosis, and distribution coefficient. The inferential statistics were analyzed by paired samples t-test and content analysis. The findings can be concluded as follows. p. The private training courses consisted of 4 courses, New Soldiers Training Course, New Soldiers MOS Training Course, Operations and Living of Privates, and Professional Training Course Before Discharge, emphasizing on penitential development for basic knowledge and skills as a soldier. Training patterns, the use of media, and course evaluation are provided so that all privates will achieve the goal and outcomes of the training courses. 2. For the private training course process, the military units followed the training as suggested, from basic to advanced levels. The training included 3 procedures, 1) preparation: To prepare training plans, personnel, budgets, buildings, places, and coordination with other sections involved; 2) training process: To perform training step by step from basic to advanced levels, focusing on commanding, explanation, demonstration, individual and combined practice, unity, and accuracy; z) evaluation: To evaluate each individual private. The difference of the scenariobased training from the one suggested by the courses was the adjustment of training time, procedures, and subjects to be in accordance with trainees, situations, and contexts of the military units. 3. The characteristics of privates before discharge were high (M = 4.43, SD. = 0.48). When considering in each aspect, it was found that self-adjustment was highest (M = 4.69, SD. = 0.45), followed by volunteering (M = 4.65, SD. = 0.38). Patience was lowest (M = 3.96, SD. = 0.56).
