Abstract: | This Independent Study was conducted to figure out behaviors in alien labor health service accessibility and their potential factors leading to health service, in Chiangmai Province. The sample was selected from 400 alien labors living in Chiangmai Province, Questionnaire was the main collecting instrument for this research. Statistics were descriptive and multiple regression. The study found that most of the samples were men, income ranging between 8,001 to 10,000 baht, single, Myanmar nationality, and uneducated. Their occupations were housekeeper/major-domo, immigrating to Chingmai for a job, about 10 years, and living with family. Their behaviors on health service accessibility mostly were using the 30 baht-health service insurance, bought health service insurance themselves with no personal congenital disease, no admit to hospital in last one year. In case of sickness happening, influenza was the main disease; muscle ache generally. This ended up with taking a pill from drug store, due to its convenience and easiness, that could be taken in drug stores, in 5 kilometers-radian. Also, pay of expense is low, not exceeding 500 baht each bill. For knowledge on health service insurance, it was in average range; alien labors knew about their right on health insurance, period of service insurance, also its coverage on their children’s right for health service. Nevertheless, the sample still misunderstood about the right on specific disease healing services. Accessibility to health service was high, mostly; alien labors could access to health service, as well as they were able to afford for the health service. In terms of quality and service readiness and convenient facilities of service centers; was ranged as “high”. Accessibility to service centers and their branches were ranged as “medium”. It can be concluded that period of age was the main factors of alien labors for accessing health service centers, followed by sickness, time living and working in Chiangmai, genders and education respectively. |
