Abstract: Prisoner Health Volunteers are persons who play a very important role in infection surveillance in a prison. This correlational descriptive research aimed to study the factors related to infectionsurveillance of Prisoner Health Volunteers. The sample groups studied were 266 volunteers selectedby simple random sampling. Data was collected between February and March 2020 using a questionnaire compiled from literature reviews. The questionnaire consisted of 4 parts: 1) general information, 2) internal factors related to infection surveillance in a prison, namely knowledge, and intention of infection surveillance in a prison, 3) external factors related to infection surveillance in a prison, i.e.: promotion and support for this surveillance in a prison, and 4) infection surveillance of prisoner health volunteers. The content validity index was between .98 and .99. Reliability was between .79 and .95. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman rank correlation coefficient statistics. Results showed that: 1. Prisoner Health Volunteers had knowledge, intention, and promotion of infection surveillance in a prison were at a high level and the support of infection surveillance in a prison was at a medium level. 2. Prisoner Health Volunteers had a high level of operation of infection surveillance in a prison. 3. The promotion and support of infection surveillance in a prison were positive corelated to Infection Surveillance of Prisoner Health Volunteers in a medium level, with statistical significance at .01. 4. The intention behind infection surveillance in a prison were positive corelated to Infection Surveillance of Prisoner Health Volunteers in a low level, with statistical significance at .01.However, age, level of education, and knowledge had no statistically significant relationship with infection surveillance among the volunteers in a prison. The results of this study are beneficial for related public health officers and the Department ofCorrections in order to achieve more efficient promotion and support of infection surveillance among the Prisoner Health Volunteers.
