Abstract: This study has objectives to study the agriculturist’s attitude towards the acceptance of Longan growing, and to analyze the factors affecting the acceptance of replacing the rice production by Longan growing. And study the agriculturist’s transferring trend of Longan growing and rice production when the market situation and the production changes in Doi Lor District, Chiang Mai Province. Data collected by questionnaire and interviewed 200 of Longan grower, 100 of rice production farmers and 100 of agriculturists who do both growing Longan and producing rice. Using Tobit model to Analyse the factors affecting agriculturist acceptance. In the agriculturist’s attitude, found that the factors that give a high affect to the Longan growers are: support by family members, see others grower has a good yield, recommended by neighbors or relatives, Langan has long harvesting time for one crop, Longan has good price and market, Longan has low production costs, Longan has less hassle on implementing and caring, and the area that have a shortage of water is too risky to do the rice production. The factors that give a high affect to the rice production farmers are: to have own rice to consume, encouraged by family members to continue the rice cultivation, to be able to do others crop in rotation, and Longan takes at least three years until the harvest time. The factors that give a high affect to the agriculturists who do both growing Longan and producing rice are: see others grower has a good yield, Langan has long harvesting time for one crop, Longan has good price and market. Factors affecting the acceptance of replacing the rice production by Longan growing, found that the factors that affect the acceptance of increasing the Longan growing are: having others career beside of agriculturist and holding more paddy field. The factors that affect the acceptance of decreasing the Longan growing are: having an education about Longan fruit, holding more paddy field, increasing of family member as a workforce and increasing age of agriculturist. In the transferring trend of Longan growing, found that the situation that affect the Longan growing to remain growing Longan are market competition resulted to the depressing of Longan price and technology that can reduce labor costs and create better rice yield. The situation that results the agriculturist transferring to do the rice production is the government’s rice price guarantee scheme to get 15,000 Baht per ton. The situation that results the rice production farmers transferring to do the Longan growing are the increasing of Longan prices and the price quarantine by government. In the other hands, the situation that results the less transferring to the Longan growing are the cancelation of the government’s rice price guarantee scheme and the depressing of rice price. However, the agriculturists who do both growing Longan and producing rice, there is the same result in any situation, they still maintain on growing Longan. The situation that lead the rice production farmers to transfer to grow Longan are the increasing of Longan prices and the price quarantine by government and the situation that lead the rice production farmer to remain producing rice are the cancelation of the government’s rice price guarantee scheme and the depressing of rice price.
