|Abstract:||“A Feasibility Study for Investment in Corn Core Charcoal Briquettes Production in Chiang Mai Province” concentrated on 5 aspects namely environment and economics, marketing, technique, management and finance. The primary sources of the data collection were from handling out questionnaires to entrepreneurial buyers of charcoal briquettes including 10 BBQ restaurants and 30 BBQ stalls in Chiang Mai Province. It was noted that Interviews and questionnaires were used together during the data collection. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with corn core charcoal briquette manufacturers. 2 samples were purposively selected. Besides, the secondary data were collected from academic and commercial articles on the internet and related books, journals, publications and researches. The result could be summed up in the form of the financial statement which enabled the project to be assessed and decided to invest in under the assumption of acceptable rate of Internal Rate of Return greater than Weighted Average Cost of Capital: WACC at 11.00% and payback period within 5 years. According to the study, it was found that factors affecting corn core charcoal briquette buying decision were as follows: the product featuring long usability period, the price being stable, the distribution channels being convenient and the delivery service promotion being provided to customers. In addition, the production area was rented in the investment project approximate 1 rai at Moo 10, Tungsatok Subdistrict, Sanpatong District, Chiang Mai Province. The building with production line, warehouse and office was further constructed. The building also comprised of 300-square-meter functional area and 300-square-meter charcoal drying bed under construction cost at 850,000 Baht. Moreover, 3 manufacturing machines including 1 charcoal grinder, 1 charcoal mixer and 1 briquette press totally 130,000 Baht were invested. Besides, the project was operated by 2 executives in limited partnership format. There were totally 5 employees of which 4 people were in charge of corn core charcoal briquette production and only one staff was stationed at the office to coordinate with customers and prepare documents. According to financial data, the payback period was approximate 3.65 years or 3 years, 7 months and 27 days, Net Present Value (NPV) was 265,279.33 Baht and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) was 16.45%. Consequently, corn core charcoal briquette production in Chiang Mai Province would be feasible investment.|
