Abstract: This independent research is based on subject of “An Analysis of Women’s Image in Currently Thai Films”. The objective of this research is studying the creation process to the female characters and analyze the storytelling structure found in Thai films. This is a content analysis research paper which studies the meaning behind film scripts. Nine Thai movies from 2012 to 2014 were selected by systematic random sampling. And use the survey method with 100 males and females who live in Chiang Mai to investigate their attitudes towards female characters found in currently Thai films. The results of study found that most of women character in Thai film comprise of positive physical traits and have the ability to work and take care of their own lives. Besides, educated and work make women have more freedom in their occupations to play a role in the world outside. Shows the characters of a modern woman who is not attached to the role of mother and wife anymore. Meanwhile, although the film that create the characters of a modern woman with versatility in the world outside their houses. But there are also tied to the old-fashioned value and attempt to leash themselves by an old frame of belief. The characters of a woman in Thai films are still being ideal type that society expects them to be. The survey research found Attitude towards character of a woman in Thai films as a whole came out in a manner similar to the characters that films were presented.
