Abstract: This independent study presents the analysis of electrical energy for conservation at Ruampormitr Pokkhand Co. Ltd. Plant. We collected the data on energy and power usage for a period of 1 month onsite. After analyzing the energy usage data of the plant, the devices that were critical for energy saving have been identified. Then, the energy saving strategies have been proposed and the amount of energy and monetary saving have been calculated via a standard formula. The DIgSILENT program has also been used to compute the energy and monetary saving. The results using both formula and DIgSILENT method were found consistent. The strategies found to have impact on the saving are as follows. First, the transformer tab can be adjusted to lower the output voltage and the energy loss can be reduced by 1,688 kWh/y. The second strategy suggests the reduction in the machine speed by 10 percent while maintaining the same level of productivity can save 56,747 kWh/y. Replacing the traditional lamps by led lamps can save 50 percent of the energy, for the total of 21,916 kWh/y. Furthermore, for the energy saving effort to be effective, the corporation must encourage all workers to be have energy saving mindset, to create the culture of energy conservation. Regular energy audit and machine maintenance should be done on regular basis to reduce unnecessary losses.
