Abstract: This independent study had two objectives which were 1) to study operational conditions and problems of the internal quality assurance system at Montfort College, Primary Section, Chiang Mai Province and 2) to study guidelines for increasing operational efficiency of the internal quality assurance system at Montfort College, Primary Section, Chiang Mai Province. There were three steps in the study which were 1) to study operational conditions and problems of the internal quality assurance system at Montfort College, Primary Section, Chiang Mai Province, 2) to study and draft guidelines for increasing operational efficiency of the internal quality assurance system at Montfort College, Primary Section, Chiang Mai Province, 3) to inspect guidelines for increasing operational efficiency of the internal quality assurance system at Montfort College, Primary Section. According to the study results of the operational conditions of the internal quality assurance system at Montfort College, Primary Section, Chiang Mai Province in eight components of the ministerial regulations on the system of educational quality assurance principles and methods, B.E. 2553 (2010), the overall conditions had compliance / reality in the highest level. In consideration of each element, the averages were sorted in descending order as followed: the operations of the educational institute’s educational management development plan had the highest average followed by the second rank which was determination of the educational institute’s educational standards, the later third rank which was the internal quality assessment of the educational institute’s educational standards, the later fourth rank which was preparation of the annual report that was the internal quality evaluation report, the later fifth rank which was arrangement of the educational institute’s educational management development plan aimed at the quality of the educational institute’s educational standards, continuously tracking and monitoring the educational quality and developing the educational quality with the same averages, and the final rank which was organization of the information and management system with the lowest average. The major problems and barriers to the implementation of quality internal assurance at Montfort College, Primary Section, Chiang Mai Province included knowledge and understanding in the educational quality assurance system and inconsideration and unrealization of the teachers and school personnel’s educational quality assurance importance. As a result, the operations of the school’s educational quality assurance were not effective and were not run consistently. The guidelines for increasing operational efficiency of the internal quality assurance system at Montfort College, Primary Section, Chiang Mai Province were focused on the leadership of the educational institute administrators, participation and cooperation of all parties, and continuation of the implementation. The results of the inspection of the accuracy, appropriateness, and feasibility were found that every issue was overall at the highest level.
