ประสิทธิภาพของระบบฐานข้อมูล POLIS เพื่อปฏิบัติงานสืบสวนคดีอาชญากรรมของเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจกองบังคับการสืบสวนสอบสวนตำรวจภูธรภาค 5

Abstract

This Independent Study on “Efficiency of POLIS Database for the Investigation Division of the Provincial Police Region 5” had the objectives of (1) studying the police officers’ level of knowledge on technological application of the POLIS Database for the Investigation Division of the Provincial Police Region 5; (2) studying the level of understanding of the technological application of the POLIS Database and (3) their efficiency in using the POLICE Database. The sample group consisted of 190 police officers of the Investigation Division of the Provincial Police Region 5, Chiang Mai Province. The tool used was a questionnaire comprising 80 items related to the efficiency of the POLIS Database application in the Investigation Division of the Provincial Police Region 5. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics to find the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation as well as the T-test and the F-test. The study results showed the following: (1) the police officers of the Investigation Division of the Provincial Police Region 5 had a level of knowledge of the technological application of the POLIS Database of 85.80% with the high levels being in basic computer literacy followed by computer application, investigation principles and the least knowledge in computer network systems. (2) The police officers’ level of understanding of the technological application of the POLIS Database for crime investigation was 80.87% with the high levels being in the application of the POLIS Database during the incident followed by application after the occurrence and the least understanding of the POLIS Database application being before the occurrence of the incident. (3) Their efficiency in using the POLIS Database in criminal investigation was found to be the highest whereas the hypotheses test showed that age difference affected their efficiency in using the POLIS Database.
