Abstract: The purposes of this study, "Analysis of Jokes in Koosangkoosom Magazine," were to analyze the concept of humor creation in Koosangkoosom magazine, and to analyze texts and communication stratigies in humor creation in the magazine. Data of humorous stories analyzed were from Koosangkoosom magazines published in 2011, a total of 198 stories. Concepts mainly used in the analysis included the types of discourse and notional structure concept of Robert E. Longacre, discourse model concept of Deborah Schiffrin, incongruity concept of Immanuel Kant, presupposition concept of Claudia Caffi, implicature concept of Herbert Paul Grice, and the concept of indirect speech acts of John R. Searle. The results showed that the analysis of humorous stories were concepts, texts, and communication strategies. Humorous stories creation included five concepts: gender, families, humans, animals, and information presentation. Gender was the concept found mostly. Humorous stories can be a narrative discourse or expository discourse. This could also be in the world or a fantasy story. When considering the structure, it was found that there were three kinds of structure. The first structure consisted of the main part and the main part grouped together as the humorous point. The second structure grouped the main part and subordinate part together as the humorous point. The final structure included subordinate part and main part; humor point is only the main part. Regarding communication strategies together with texts consisted of pragmatics, and literary techniques. Pragmatics included presuppositions, implicatures, and indirect speech acts. presuppositions were mostly found. For the literary techniques, they used homograph, polysemous word, antonyms, and parallel sentences which were mostly found. Figures of speech included simile, metaphor, hyperbole, and metonymy, which the use of metaphor was found mostly.
