Abstract: | This independent study was conducted to study the feasibility of Investment Projects in manufacturing drinking water with reverse osmosis and ozone systems in Chiang Mai for the investor in advance. In this study, the useful data was gathered by two methods, first, Depth Interview from business owner which were Piao Mountain Company Limited, Glacier Company Limited and Chiang Mai beverage Company Limited and, second, Questionnaire from 200 convenience sampling of consumer in Chiangmai. Afterwards, all the data was used to analyze by divided into four parts which were marketing analysis, technical analysis, managing analysis and financial analysis as follow: Marketing Analysis, according to observation of customer sale, it was found that the growth rate of drinking water industry has steadily developed by 30% and expected to continuously increase. Because of the rapidly rising of population, city expansion, immigration and incoming of tourist have led to the high density of the population in downtown and all these factors effected to the growing rate of clean drinking water consumption. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an opportunity for drinking water manufacturing by using reverse-osmosis and ozone systems to enter to market of this industry. However, it has been widely known that launching the new product and stay in the market is not easy, thus, efficient strategy and quality is highly concerned. GMP standard was applied to control the manufacturing process and product. Moreover, using lower price strategy which is 3.75 baht per 600 cc of drinking water bottle size (PET) for the opening price, Giving credit to the distributor and on-time delivery made more advantage to the business. Technical analysis, the study showed that the company which establish on an area of 1,000 square meters at 8/1 Rattanakosin road was appropriated location because the groundwater was plentiful and also in good quality. Furthermore, this location was in Chiangmai’s downtown where surrounded by a large number of restaurants and stores and it is easy to distribute products due to a convenient transportation. Managing analysis, it have been found that Drinking Water Company is not complex organization, therefore it required only a few unskilled workforce but high degree of responsibility to control the product quality and deliver products to customer punctually and correctly. Financial analysis, the result of the study showed that the initial investment of the drinking water factory with reverse-osmosis and ozone system required approximately 17,000,000 baht. The net present value equaled 54,184195 baht based on 11.505% of discount rate. The payback period of this project was 3 years and 2 months and the internal rate of return is 44.4% According to marketing, technical, management and financial factors analysis, it could be concluded that there was a possibility to invest in Drinking Water Company by using reverse osmosis and ozone systems in Chiang Mai which was consistent with the hypothesis. This project could generate more than 15% of internal rate of return. Besides the pleasant rate of return, the ease of finding raw material and human resource also support the concept of establish the drinking water factory with reverse osmosis and ozone systems at Rattanakosin road, Chiangmai. |
