Abstract: This independent study is comparable to qualitative research aimed to explain how cm108.com Facebook fan page affects daily life of Chiang Mai people and to comprehend the attitude of Chiang Mai people toward cm108.com Facebook fan page. The sample group was cm108.com Facebook fan page’s members, totaling 400 people. The data gained was analyzed by the descriptive technique under the scope of related theories. According to the study, how cm108.com Facebook fan page affects daily life of Chiang Mai people, it found that the sample group, having received this virtual news in the community, adapted it to the real world. It is a practice of daily life that were put forward were presented through storytelling in a virtual community, such as crime, accidents, complaints from fans page member, general knowledge, culture and traditions during the festival. Most of the sample group was people who live in Chiang Mai sees that the website cm108.com Facebook fan page is a media for them to know what is going on in Chiang Mai province. Consequently, there is a space for them to share their comments in the point of their interest to exchange the knowledge and experience between members. However, the sample group adopted the news in the fan page with their daily life as they could be aware of the cheaters and avoided the traffic during the festival. They also knew about accident and emergencies. Besides, the news in the fan page is mostly the kind of things surrounding them which can be adapted to their daily life. In regard with attitude of Chiang Mai people toward cm108.com Facebook fan page, it found that the sample group had supportive attitude towards the fan page as a local online media which presents news and movement in Chiang Mai province. They expected that the fan page would take part in bringing about improvements in Chiang Mai province. As for the suggestive attitude of the sample group, they see that the fan page should be improved as the presented news lack of naturalization in which the presenter gave personal opinion. The news also lacks of clearness regarding the sources which might cause misunderstanding and lead to controversies. Moreover the contents posted in the fan page might be from the resentment feeling. More importantly, when a photo or video clip is posted with the contents and mentions any person in the clip or photo, such mentioned person should be censored in order to preserve the personal right. In an aspect of news movement in the fan page, the sample group suggested that more contents should be added. The contents should be more varied and cover other districts. Recently, the movement of news in the fan page was dramatically decreased. From the study, it reflects that communication technology in type of Internet network creates virtual community that takes part in changing the way of living of Chiang Mai people. It is also served as a space from them to express about the problems they are facing, and to use their freedom in this virtual community to avoid the problems and create the new set of fact to cover up those problems to the extent that it leads to the endless controversies and confrontation.
