Abstract: In a building construction project, inspection of the installation of the main electrical system and main electrical room to verify that the electrical system in this project can run correctly and safely for building users is needed. Generally, a 2D drawing and onsite inspection by the relevant staff are using. If the project electrical installation does not comply with Thai Electrical Code standard, it will be charged by cost and takes longer time to fix this problem. Therefore, a prototype BIM-Based automatic checking tools has been developed. Visual programming language script from Autodesk Revit Dynamo for automatic inspection through a 3D BIM Shop was used to drawing of MDB room. It helps determining the width and the depth of the operating space of the low voltage switchboard in MDB room which is the one of the standards of the installing consideration within the project. From a script run through Dynamo Player, the inspection is displayed as an Excel spreadsheet file that identifies the panel name, the Element ID, the inspection result message, and the distance of the operating space. After the development of the tools was completed, there was a group interview with engineer about the use of tools. As a result, the tools are suitable for the design phase of project as it can be used to design preliminary electrical rooms and coordinate with other department, the tools can also be used to make electrical construction drawings before installing the actual work if further developed to reduce limitations and improve the inspection results. As for the Electricity Authority see that no need to use the tools in the agency. However the Electricity Authority has trust and support in the concept of developing of the tools but it needs to be further developed to have more electrical standards and cover application in the future.
