Abstract: The objective of this study , “Participation in Nomination Process” is: 1) to investigate nomination process of political party from law; 2) to investigate nomination process of political party in reality; 3) to investigate primary vote proposal for change nomination system The study of participation in nomination process showed that the new 2007 Organic Law on Political Parties mandates that nomination process in local area must providing opportunities for political participation in branch’s party convention. However the purpose of law is void because the process is distorted. Thai Democrat’s nomination process distort nomination process in 3 point; 1) Procedure of branch’s party convention is only collect candidate list for party committee; 2) The Application can made in head office; 3) Settlement of province committee is a mean for corruption. While Pheu Thai Party, The authoritative political decision is party elite or party committee who has absolute power. In Reality, Participation process in branch’s party convention dose not work because the committee of branch who can choose the member in convention is a few faction in local area. The Branch is not implements for participation, therefore Consequently, United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) invoke to Pheu Thai Party for primary vote in nomination process. It was born as a tool to take the nomination process out of hands of party elites and place it into the hands of general electorate.
