Abstract: | This independent study was aimed at examining the management of student quality development activity of Chiang Mai secondary schools, Secondary Educational Service Area Office 34, its problems and suggestions. The respondents of this study were consisted of 99 in total which can be divided into school directors, deputy directors the teachers who were responsible for school’s field trip project. The instrument used was a questionnaire (Rating Scale). Collected data were then analyzed using frequency, percentage, average and standard deviation. Findings were as follows: In managing the student quality development activity of Chiang Mai Secondary school, Secondary Educational Service Area Office 34; 4 aspects of management principle that mostly practiced were saving school budget, working with transparency, having less problems and participation of school committee members. The average of each aspect that practiced the most was saving school budget, working with transparency, having less problems and participation of school committee members respectively. Concerning the problems found in this study; they were: inadequate budget, complicated budget payment system, transportation - the bus used was too big and found insecure, and parents did not join the school’s meetings. The suggestions were the activities should be planned within limited budget, the teachers who was responsible for budget planning should be more prudent, the vehicles should be vans more than buses to prevent risk, the parents should be engaged to participate in every school’s meeting, and also the school should inform parents and school’s committee members about the principles and guidelines for field trip activity in order to ask for their opinions or suggestions. |
