Abstract

This independent study aims to examine the role of community leaders in strengthening Ban Nong Lum community, Pa Sak Subdistrict, Mueang Lamphun District, Lamphun Province, and to analyze the problems and obstacles in strengthening Ban Nong Lum community. This qualitative study was conducted through document analysis. Data were collected from participant observation, group discussions, and in-depth interviews. The findings revealed that community leaders play a crucial role in strengthening Ban Nong Lum community, which has received various awards. The community leaders' approach has contributed to community strengthening, resulting in Ban Nong Lum becoming a strong community in terms of administration, social aspects, group formation, religion, local wisdom, economy, and environment. Community members cooperate and participate within the community. Moreover, community leaders play a role in coordinating cooperation from external agencies, including Pa Sak Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Lamphun District, and various government agencies. However, regarding problems and obstacles in strengthening Ban Nong Lum community, it was found that community members participate and cooperate with community leaders in addressing issues. For general problems, all community members cooperate well. For issues that need to be brought to the village committee, community leaders will inform the committee members to brainstorm and find solutions together. When problems are resolved, it leads to positive changes in the community and improved living conditions. Therefore, it can be concluded that the problems and obstacles appearing in the community do not affect the strengthening of Ban Nong Lum community.
