Abstract: | Durian of the Long Lab Lae variety is a local variety of Uttaradit Province that has been registered as a geographical indication (GI). Its unique fragrance, sweet and creamy taste, and small seeds have led to its increasing popularity. However, consumers continue to face challenges in pre-ordering durians, which may result in receiving durians of unsatisfactory quality. Additionally, farmers lack effective channels to manage customers and inventory. This research aims to develop a system for pre-ordering Long Lab Lae durians, as well as tracking the growth of durians in real-time through social commerce. This system includes online pre-ordering and offline inventory management to accommodate areas with limited internet access. Therefore, we aim to measure the system’s effectiveness through user satisfaction. The system was tested with 5 farmers and 20 consumers. Quantitative data were collected through a survey using a 5-level satisfaction questionnaire consisting of 5 questions. The findings reveal that 60 percent of consumers were highly satisfied with the confidence in purchasing durians through the system, 75 percent found the tracking of durian growth convenient and timely, and 80 percent of farmers reported improved efficiency in inventory management through the system. The research found that overall consumer satisfaction was high, with the most appreciated aspect being the convenience of tracking durian growth. In contrast, satisfaction with the inventory management system received the lowest scores. Nevertheless, the developed system helped reduce the risk of receiving durians that did not meet the desired quality and increased confidence in the buying process. Good technical support enabled farmers to manage and monitor durians more effectively. This study suggests improvements to the system to support areas with limited internet connectivity and recommends increasing support and training for future users. |
