Abstract: This research study aims to investigate the problems, obstacles, and limitations in the operations, as well as to study the appropriate and feasible form of blockchain technology that can be applied to customs operations. Moreover, seen to provide recommendations and opinions on guidelines for the Blockchain Technology Development of the Chiang Mai Airport Customs House. The research employed a qualitative approach by collecting data from relevant research documents and semi-structured interviews as the tools for the data collection from 12 key informants, including Customs officers, administrators of Chiang Mai Airport Customs House, information technology officers from the Customs Department, and officers from related agencies. Therefore, the collected data was analyzed with content analysis. The research findings revealed that the problems and obstacles arising from operational limitations, such as the incomplete integration of electronic databases among related agencies, legal and regulatory constraints, and insufficient human resources to handle the workload. The findings pointed that the most critical area that need to provide the blockchain technology to use for solves the problems and reduce the limitations was Customs Control and Inspection Division. The private blockchain technology was deemed appropriate and feasible for this purpose and aligning with the mission of enhancing social protection capabilities through Customs control systems. The research recommendations included revising regulations or laws before implementing blockchain technology and creating knowledge management (KM) for Customs officers and all stakeholders involved in Customs procedures.
