Abstract: This research focuses on solving the problem of optimizing helicopter routes for inspecting high-voltage power transmission lines. The objective is to find the minimum total travel cost for inspecting these lines within the service area of the Northern Region Operation Division (NROD), taking into account constraints such as inspection time, required sequences for line inspections, and routes that should avoid flying against the sun. This problem is classified as a Multi-Depot Arc Routing Problem (MDARP), which is used to create a mathematical model for solving the problem directly using Lingo 14.0 software. However, since MDARP is an NP-hard problem, it is highly complex and direct methods cannot find the optimal solution within a reasonable time frame. Therefore, this research applies a metaheuristic approach to enhance the solution-finding capability, specifically using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method. The chosen method was able to find a solution for the NROD case study with a total cost of 5,539,344.21 THB, which is 1,647,755.05 THB or 42.34% high than the actual operational plan of NROD.
