Abstract: This study explores the implementation of the Appreciative Inquiry Approach to develop the creative thinking abilities of high school students. The study has three main objectives: 1) to study the concept of social studies learning through the Appreciative Inquiry Approach to develop the creative thinking abilities of high school students; 2) to develop social studies learning innovation according to Appreciative Inquiry Approach to develop creative thinking abilities of high school students; and 3) to examine the effectiveness of implementing social studies learning innovation according to Appreciative Inquiry Approach to develop creative thinking abilities of high school students. Employing a research and development (R&D) model, the study sampled 49 high school students through simple random sampling. Research tools included content analysis forms, course descriptions, teaching and learning objectives, course content, related concepts, theories, and research, social studies learning innovation according to the Appreciative Inquiry Approach to develop creative thinking abilities of high school students, as well as the evaluation of creative thinking abilities and student satisfaction with the social studies learning innovation according to Appreciative Inquiry Approach to develop creative thinking abilities of high school students. The statistical analyses employed in data analysis were mean, standard deviation, percentage, and content analysis.   The research findings were summarized as follows: 1. The concept of social studies learning innovation according to Appreciative Inquiry Approach to develop creative thinking abilities of high school students included the unit plans developed by the researcher according to the steps of the Appreciative Inquiry Approach to develop creative thinking abilities of high school students. This approach followed the Appreciative Inquiry cycle known as “The 5-D Model,” consisting of five steps designed to promote concrete-operational creative thinking skills: 1) Definition: content examination, 2) Discovery: idea exploration, 3) Dream: value analysis, 4) Design: direction seeking, and 5) Destiny: application development. 2. The social studies learning innovation according to Appreciative Inquiry Approach to develop creative thinking abilities of high school students included two unit plans about Landform, as well as Natural Resources and Environment that were considered highly suitable. 3. The effectiveness of employing social studies learning innovation according to Appreciative Inquiry Approach to develop creative thinking abilities of high school students was evaluated by comparing the pre-intervention and post-intervention creative thinking scores of the sample group. The results showed an increase in average scores across all dimensions. The most significant improvement was observed in elaboration, with an increase of 0.43, followed by flexibility with an increase of 0.47, fluency with an increase of 0.37, and the lowest increase was in originality, at 0.31. These findings suggest that the innovation effectively develops creative thinking abilities in high school students.
