Abstract: Quality of nursing care is crucial for improving patients’ health status. The objectives of this descriptive predictive study were to explore the quality of nursing care of nurses and examine factors predicting the quality of nursing care including nurse work environment, job satisfaction, nurse staffing, educational levels, and work experience, among nurses in general hospitals in Mandalay, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The subjects were 218 nurses from five general hospitals selected using stratified random sampling methods. The study instruments included the Practice Environment Scale of the Nursing Work Index, the Job Satisfaction Survey, and the Good Nursing Care Scale of which the Cronbach’s alpha coefficients were .88, .91, and .98, respectively. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and stepwise multiple regression.
