Abstract: | The study on intellectual property of the National Museum in Thailand has the objectives to: 1) study the current status of intellectual property of the National Museum in Thailand; 2) To analyze and categorize the intellectual property of the National Museum in Thailand and 3) To offer the guidelines on how to categorize intellectual property of the National Museum in Thailand. By using mixed methods of research methodology as research tools. Collecting data in 2 major parts which were, 1) quantitative data, data were collected by a questionnaire. The sample group was the curator or officers from 43 locations of national museums that total 215 people, and the return of the questionnaire was 180, accounting for 83. 72 % and, 2) Qualitative data, data was collected by interview, using a structural interview. Conducting the interview was with the director of the fine arts department, 1 person from each area according to their area of responsibility, a total of 12 people, there were 10 informants who provided information in the interviews. Research results on the current status of intellectual property of the National Museum in Thailand. In the interviews of 10 respondents, 6 were male, 4 were female, 5 were graduated master's degree and, another 5 graduated with a bachelor degree. Most of the informants had knowledge about intellectual property. The classification of intellectual property. There were no national museums that had a clear classification of intellectual property. On the policies related to the intellectual property of the National Museum it was found that there was no direct written policy related to intellectual property.On the analysis and classification of intellectual property of the National Museum in Thailand. According to data analysis, the majority of respondents were female, 73.30%. 36.10% were academic staff. Graduated with a Bachelor's degree 78.30%. Have working experience between 1-5 years accounted for 42.80%, and those who have knowledge and understanding about intellectual property in museums rated at a medium level of 71.70 percent. After analysis of data, the types of intellectual property in the National Museum are classified into 2 types. (1) Copyright work in theamount of 55 items, and (2) Industrial property in the amount of 18 items. Problems related to intellectual property operations in the National Museum is Intellectual Property Protection (x̅ = 2.43), Secondary is promotion and creation of Intellectual Property (x̅ = 2.32), Policy implementation (x̅ = 2.30) and intellectual property awareness (x̅ = 2.25), respectively. Based on the synthesis of both research results, the proposed method of categorizing intellectual property of the National Museum in Thailand is as follows. 1) Categorization of Intellectual property in the National Museum should be divided into 2 categories, these include copyrighted work and industrial property. And, 2) Policies related to intellectual property in the National Museum should include: Intellectual Property Awareness Policy, Creative policy on intellectual property, Intellectual Property Ownership Policy, Intellectual Property Protection Policy, Intellectual property using policy, Commercial Use Policy, Intellectual Property Violation Policy, and Giving credit to creator policy. |
