The results of the study showed that the average level of opinion on factors affecting the overall happiness of Generation X and Generation Y state enterprise operating employees were at the high level (X ̅= 3.97 and X ̅= 3.79, respectively). When considering the average level of opinion on the 11 factors affecting happiness at work of Generation X, it was found that 9 factors were at the high level, namely achievement (X ̅= 4.04), the work itself (X ̅= 3.64), responsibility (X ̅= 3.69), salary (X ̅= 3.71), interpersonal relationship with supervisors (X ̅= 3.77), interpersonal relationship with subordinates (X ̅= 3.66), company policy and administration (X ̅= 3.74), working conditions (X ̅ = 3.76) and job security (X ̅= 3.83), and 2 factors were at the moderate level, namely recognition (X̅ = 3.49) and possibility for growth (X ̅= 3.08). For the average level of opinions on the 11 factors affecting happiness at work of Generation Y, it was found that 9 factors were at the high level, namely job security (X ̅= 3.93), responsibility (X ̅= 3.86), working conditions (X ̅= 3.76), salary (X ̅= 3.73), interpersonal relationship with supervisors (X ̅= 3.69), the work itself (X ̅= 3.64), recognition (X ̅= 3.63), achievement (X ̅= 3.62) and company policy and administration (X ̅= 3.62) and 2 factors were at the moderate level, namely interpersonal relationship with subordinates (X ̅= 3.39) and possibility for growth (X ̅= 2.98) When comparing the differences between Generation X and Generation Y overall happiness at work, the results of the study revealed that the overall working happiness of Generation X and Generation Y state enterprise employees in Chiang Mai was different (Sig = 0.005) at the significance level of 0.05.
