Abstract: The purposes of this study were to compare the students’ English reading abilities before and after being taught through reciprocal teaching and to study the students’ group work skills after being taught through reciprocal teaching. The target group was 20 second year marine corps students who studied English for practicum in the first semester of the academic year 2022 at Marine Corps School, Education Center, Royal Thai Marine Corps, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. The research instruments consisted of seven lesson plans using reciprocal teaching, an English reading abilities test, and a group work skills evaluation form. The data were analyzed for mean, standard deviation, percentage, and dependent t-test. The findings were as follows: 1. The naval rating students’ English reading abilities were higher after being taught through reciprocal teaching. 2. The naval rating students’ group work skills were at the high level after being taught through reciprocal teaching.
