Abstract: | This research studies the inventory cost which to be applied in Lens company to reduce the total cost of inventory management. Currently, the company does not apply any systematic method for inventory management and sale forecasting, resulting in over-ordering and overstocking of raw materials. The study analyses 4-year historical data of 5 raw material categories that has the highest sale to find an appropriate and effective forecasting method. The research was used The Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE) for evaluating the accuracy of error. And use 1-year in advance forecasting values to be planning of inventory management with Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Periodic Order Quantity (POQ) with safety stock at 95% service level. The results revealed that the company can accomplish cost savings amounting to 870,972 baht or 48.86 percent of the old inventory cost. The decrease in inventory levels has facilitated the management of inventory and resources, allowing for the potential to allocate resources towards developing and improving other systems or processes. |
