Abstract

This independent research studies a data warehouse system which integrates data from many sources of the Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA). The system performs Extract – Load - Transform (ELT) and displays a map showing the incorrect water meter coordinates between the monthly water meters readings and the coordinates of the water meter installation points from the Geographic Information System (GIS) of the PWA. Therefore, the PWA staffs can inspect and plan a survey of water meter installation sites to continue improving the information in the GIS. The system developed in this research evaluated by compare the accuracy of the difference between the monthly water meters readings coordinates and the water meter coordinates from the GIS together with the results of creating abstract visualizations in the form of a plan and a graph showing the water meters route with high incorrect water meter coordinates. This allows the users to use it as information in planning the survey of the water meter installation site. The evaluation also shows a comparison of working time from the old process with the newly developed system. It was found that the new developed system takes less time to operate than the user's original operation. It can be said that the system developed from this independent research can be used in practice. Because it can be linked to the work process and increase the efficiency of work for users.
