Abstract: This research “Cultural Management in Den Chai District as a Learning Site and a Site for Cultural Tourism” aims to study historical background of Phrae province: including history, society and culture, study the historical background, economic and cultural of communities in Den Chai District, Phrae Province as well as to study the value potential and problems of cultural heritage of the community, and propose the model and methods to manage the cultural heritage in Den Chai District, Phrae Province, as a learning site and a site for cultural tourism. This research is qualitative research, and the research methodology consists of documents study and field study by observing and interviewing the stakeholders of Den Chai district: including the community leaders, monks, community sages, administrators of local government organization, the chief or government officials and inhabitants. Then, data was analyzed to recognize the value and problems of cultural heritage which leads to propose the model and methods to manage the cultural heritage as a learning site and a site for cultural tourism. The research found that Phrae province was an ancient city and had more cultural heritages from the long of the historical development. In the previous times, Den Chai district, Phrae province was important as an ancient route. In King Rama V period to present time, Den Chai has the community settlements and the development of economic prosperity because of the coming of the railway. Den Chai district has more cultural heritages: including tangible cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage which have historical value, academic and education value, technology value, social and culture value, and art and appreciation value that culture can be managed as the learning site and the site for cultural tourism routes, and stick to the efficient and sustainable management which consist of the integration and association between communities, local and government officials.
