Abstract: This study reports on 1) the basic social and economic information of farmers who participated in the Longan large-scale project and 2) the factors that influenced the participating farmers' adoption of technology for large-scale longan farming in Mae Tha district, Lamphun province. This study employed a sequential exploratory mixed methods design. The qualitative research applied and using discussion collected focus group from that included 9 agricultural workers and I related official. The quantitative workers 220. Descripts statistics applied including frequencies, percentages, averages, standard deviations, and logistic regression analyses. The qualitative data analyzed using content analysis. The research found that 59.5 percent of farmers who participated in the project were female, 44.5 percent were between 51 and 60 years old, and 50.5 percent had completed grade 4 of primary school (pratom 4). The farmers had an average debt of 145,420.90 baht and an average yearly income from planting longan of 126,404.55 baht. Farmer adopted in large-scale longan production in using technology with 80.5 percent and non-adopted of introduced technologies 19.5 percent. The multiple regression analysis showed that there were 5 variables significantly influenced the farmers' adoption of technology (α = 0.05) : amount of debt, number of information channels, attitude toward longan large-scale project, opinion of support from an agricultural promotion institute, and problems faced by the farmers who participated in the project. Five of these variables had a positive impact on the farmers' adoption of technology. Famers have been in debt tended to accepted in technologies in longan production. However, farmers that received information along many channels were more likely to adopted technology than those who received information from a single channel. Regarding farmers' attitudes, farmers with a positive attitude toward the project had a greater chance of adopting technology than those whom with a negative attitude. Regarding farmers' opinions of institutional support, farmers who agreed with support from an agricultural promotion institute were more likely to adopt the technology. Finally, regarding obstacles, most farmers who participated in the project met with many obstacles in producing longan, which led to greater adoption of technology when compared to farmers who met with few obstacles or didn't have any problems in production. In the end, even with technology that helps with planting large plots of longan, farmers still have certain labor limitations, such as trimming the longan trees into the right shape or determining the grade of the longan fruit.
