Abstract: In Thailand critical peak pricing demand response program was implemented on commercial and industrial customer for peak reduction at critical peak period which lead to lower marginal cost and avoiding investment cost in power plant construction and transmission system. However, the CPP program price mechanism can cause some problems to power quality in distribution system. Therefore, the objective of this research is to design price-based demand response program for industrial customer based on balance between customer economic profit and distribution system utility profit. The demand-price elasticity method is used for demand profile forecast under CPP and designed tariff. The proposed tariff was calculated using MATLAB, with a goal of improving the effectiveness of price-based demand response programs The simulated model of the proposed method was built using DigsilentPowerFactory software. The simulation has 2 main parts which are 2 bus system model and Northern region industrial estate (Nikom Lamphun). The economic profits, peak reduction, voltage profiles and losses are analyzed under Time of Use tariffs, Critical Peak Pricing tariffs, and the proposed tariffs.
