Abstract: The study of the Mlabri and Access to Health Services in Wiang Sa District, Nan Province" aimed to:1) analyse the situation and factors related to health problems of Mlabri; 2) study the access patterns of health services of Mlabri; and 3) analyse factors related to problems, obstacles and recommendation to healthcare access and health promotion of Mlabri in Wiang Sa District, Nan province. Results showed that between 2007 and 2016, the situation of diseases and illness of Mabri in Wiang Sa District, Nan province, was mostly found in communicable diseases, followed by accidents, and non-communicable diseases, respectively. For the birth rate, the rate in 2016 was 36 (per thousand population) which was almost 5 times the rate of Nan province in the same year. In addition, the use of service in birth deliveries were very low compared to birth statistics, reflecting social value of Mabri that like to give birth at home. The analysis of the 2016 Mlabri population structure showed that the median age was 16.50 years which has been considered as the young population age structure. For the capability of healthcare access, it was found that the majority of the Mlabri received health knowledge and information from local public health officers. Every Mlabri has the right and welfare in healthcare and does not has to pay for treatments. Most of the Mlabri chose to use services from the community public health center and would not choose to go for treatments at the hospital due to limitations in travel cost, and government policy in birth control. Results from this study give a better understanding on the livelihood of Mlabri in the study area and health situation, access and limitation in healthcare. The results from this study can be used for problem-solving and for proactive regulations in institutions involved in public health and others that help to support the Mlabri or other ethnic groups to improve their quality of life sustainably.
