Abstract: | The purposes of this research were to 1) study Matthayomsuksa 3 students’ adversity quotient between students who have different parenting style and different personality 2) study validation of adversity quotient measurement of Matthayomsuksa 3 students, and 3) examine the invariance of model form and the parameter of Matthayomsuksa 3 students’ adversity quotient model between students who have different parenting style and personality. The research samples were 704 cases from Matthayomsuksa 3 students of the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 34 in academic year 2018 and opportunity expansion schools under Chiangmai Primary Educational Service Area Office 1-6 by using Multi – Stage random sampling method. The research instruments were 1) 58 items 5 rating-scale questionnaire of adversity quotient for Matthayomsuksa 3 students. The content validity (IOC) of each item ensured by 5 experts were ranged from 0.60 to 1.00. The instrument tried out by 110 Matthayomsuksa 3 students found that the discriminations (r) were ranged from 0.272 to 0.693. The t-test were ranged from 4.437 to 8.752. The reliability () was 0.948. 2) 17 items 5 rating scaling questionnaire of parenting style focuses on uninvolved parenting style, democratic parenting style and overprotected parenting style. The content validity (IOC) were ranged from 0.60 to 1.00. The uninvolved parenting style have the discriminations (r) were ranged from 0.388 to 0.623, the reliability () was 0.847. The democratic parenting style have the discriminations (r) were ranged from 0.341 to 0.501, the reliability () was 0.852. The overprotected parenting style have the discriminations (r) were ranged from 0.330 to 0.585, the reliability () was 0.850. 3) 45 items 5 rating scaling questionnaire of personality. The content validity (IOC) were ranged from 0.60 to 1.00. The personality of neuroticism have the discriminations (r) were ranged from 0.313 to 0.604, the reliability () was 0.928. The personality of extraversion have the discriminations (r) were ranged from 0.228 to 0.613, the reliability () was 0.928. The personality of openness to experience have the discriminations (r) were ranged from 0.375 to 0.625, the reliability () was 0.928. The personality of agreeableness have the discriminations (r) were ranged from 0.259 to 0.526, the reliability () was 0.928. And the personality of Conscientiousness have the discriminations (r) were ranged from 0.385 to 0.644, the reliability () was 0.929.The data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis, second order confirmatory factor analysis (2nd CFA), and multiple group analysis by Mplus 7.4 program. The results of this study were as follows: 1) The analysis result found that Chiangmai Matthayomsuksa 3 students’ adversity quotient was in fair level. The results considering by each parameter found that the ability to endurance was in good level. The ability to control problematic situations, origin and ownership, and reach the problem impact were in fair level. The results considering the style of parenting found the all 3 types have adversity quotient was in fair level. The democratic parenting style was the highest average. The secondary was uninvolved parenting style and next overprotected parenting style, respectively. The results considering adversity quotient from student’ personality found that student with conscious personality have adversity quotient in good level. Next, personality of openness to experience, personality of agreeableness, personality of extraversion and personality of neuroticism impact were in fair level. 2) The result of validation of adversity quotient measurement of Matthayomsuksa 3 students’ adversity quotient model found that the model was fit to the empirical data with 2 = 139.117, df = 119, p-value = 0.1003, 2 /df =1.169 less than 2, CFI = 0.997, TLI = 0.995, RMSEA = 0.015, SRMR = 0.018 The results considering by each parameter found that the ability to control have the factor loadings were ranged from 0.434 to 0.772. The ability to origin and ownership have the factor loadings were ranged from 0.647 to 0.805. The ability to reach have the factor loadings were ranged from 0.651 to 0.740. And the ability to endurance have the factor loadings were ranged from 0.656 to 0.782.3) The analysis result of the invariance of model form and the parameter of Matthayomsuksa 3 students’ adversity quotient model between 3 different groups of parenting style and between 5 different groups of personality showed that the model was invariance in form but was variance in parameters. The different groups of parenting style was variance of 1 latent variable: control. The different groups of personality was variance of 2 latent variable: control and endurance. And the variance of 11 observed variables: control emotions, goals for work, solve immediate problems, find the cause of the problem, responsibility, sacrifice, dedicated to solving problems, learn and develop from problems that arise, endurance, the problem was a challenge and positive thinking. |
