Abstract: The study of development pattern of commercial microfinance institutions appropriate for Thailand aims to find cause of microfinance system problem and measure efficiency microfinance operation in Thailand to lead development pattern of microfinance institutions appropriate in Thailand. Because the Thailand commercial microfinance institutions do not have efficiency. This study is focus on three important issues, microfinance institution problem, microfinance anticipator behavior and regulation, for solve all of microfinance system. As a result the Thailand microfinance efficiency, it has low efficiency in loaning and profit ability. But income ability has good efficiency when measure with data envelopment analysis method. For microfinance financial ratio management is also low efficiency. However the anticipator behavior will have seasonal income and expenditure because most of them are in agricultural sector but they have good discipline in lending money. For regulation can support microfinance efficiency. The microfinance development pattern appropriate for Thailand is village agricultural saving cooperative because it can access to inhabitant and can deposits saving from public. It should manage by member in village and apply social business concept to manage microfinance cooperative because it is not only make profit but also develop poor economic welfare and sustainable microfinance system.
