Abstract

When I was young, I lived in a countryside area. I had lived with the nature and had the agricultural way of life until I left my home to study and live in an urban area. I always look back at the life when I was young, which is the happiest session in my lifetime. I am always fascinated with agricultural way of life. Therefore, my works in the “Agricultural Life” project are inspired by the countryside life during my childhood. This project aims to reflect my feeling of nostalgia to my life and happiness in the past when I was living in a countryside area. The technique used for creating works in this project is the pottery technique. Local materials are used in order to convey symbolic values. The works in this project are installation art works consisting of pottery, clay tablets engraved with the figure of hoes and natural materials. The art works are exhibited in the place the lighting of which represents the atmospheres at sun dawn and at twilight. I have analyzed the works in this project in terms of the overview, compositions, atmospheres and the manifestation of the art works in order to understand the symbolization of several meanings in the works.
