Abstract: | The purposes of this study, Awareness of Furama Chiang Mai Hotel Employees Towards Social Insurance System were 1) to analyze the awareness of Furama Chiang Mai hotel employees towards the concept, principles, and benefits of the social insurance system, 2) to study the demand and acceptance to be insured in the social insurance system of Furama Chiang Mai hotel employees, 3) to analyze the factors that have an influence on acceptance of being insurers. Data collections were carried out through questionnaires. The target group was 162 Furama Chiang Mai hotel employees from 9 hotel departments. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The awareness of Furama Chiang Mai hotel employees towards the concept, principles, and benefits of the social insurance system at an average score of 4.02 and at the standard deviation of 0.45. 2. 70.99 per cent of hotel employees who needed and who were willing to be insured in the social insurance system. The employees stated that they were willing to be insured because they could get medical service and receive a pension fund after retirement. Meanwhile, 29.01 per cent of hotel employees refused to be insured because of poor service. The employees also stated that they already had savings in provident fund. 3. It was also found that the personal factors as gender, age, job, and salary had no influence towards the acceptance of being insurers. However, the awareness of the concept, principles, and benefits of the social insurance system affected the acceptance of the insured with statistically significant at 0.05 level. |
