ภาวะฟันกร่อนในนักกีฬาว่ายน้ำ

Abstract

ฟันกร่อนเป็นการสูญเสียเนื้อเยื่อแข็งของฟัน เนื่องจาก สารเคมีที่มีสภาวะเป็นกรดโดยไม่เกี่ยวข้องกับแบคทีเรีย หรือผลิตผลจากเชื้อภายในช่องปาก มีรายงานการพบฟัน กร่อนในนักกีฬาว่ายน้ำที่ว่ายน้ำในสระที่มีสภาวะเป็นกรดทั้ง ในต่างประเทศและในประเทศไทย รายงานนี้เป็นการทบทวน วรรณกรรมโดยกล่าวถึงความชุก ลักษณะของฟันกร่อน ปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อความรุนแรง การป้องกันและแนวทางการ จัดการเพื่อที่ทันตแพทย์จะสามารถตระหนัก ให้คำแนะนำ ในนักกีฬาว่ายน้ำ ผู้ปกครองรวมทั้งผู้ดูแลสระเพื่อป้องกัน การเกิดฟันกร่อนในนักกีฬาว่ายน้ำได้

Dental erosion is defined as the loss of dental hard tissue due to acidic chemical processes that do not involve bacteria or product of intraoral flora. Few previous Thai and international studies reported dental erosion in swimmers who swam in acidic-pH swimming pools. This review presented the prevalence, characteristic, related factors, prevention and management of dental erosion. The dentists should concern and be able to advice competitive swimmer, caregiver or parents, and swimming pool inspector to prevent dental erosion.
