หน้าที่ของ C-reactive protein ในกระบวนการอักเสบของโรคบางชนิดในสัตว์เลี้ยง

Abstract

C-Reactive Protein หรือ CRP เป็นโปรตีนที่สามารถตรวจได้จากเลือดอยู่ในกลุ่ม Acute phase protein หรือ APP ซึ่งถูกสร้างจากตับเพื่อตอบสนองต่อการอักเสบของร่างกายเมื่อเกิดการอักเสบขึ้นในร่างกายจะมีการหลั่งสารไซโตไคน์ (cytokine) ออกมาหลายชนิดและสารไซโตไคน์เหล่านั้นจะทําหน้าที่เป็นสื่อกลางในการกระตุ้นส่วนต่างๆของร่างกายให้มีการตอบสนองต่อการอักเสบระดับ CRP ในเลือดสามารถใช้ในการบ่งบอกความรุนแรงของการอักเสบที่เกิดขึ้นภายในร่างกายได้นอกจากนี้ยังใช้ในการคาดการณ์การเกิดโรคบางชนิดโดยเฉพาะโรคหัวใจและหลอดเลือด (Cardiovascular disease) และโรคเบาหวาน CRP จึงเป็นสารบ่งชี้ที่นิยมใช้ในการตรวจและดูแนวโน้มของระดับความเข้มข้นในเลือดเพื่อใช้ในการประเมินสภาพร่างกายและการดําเนินไปของโรค

C-Reactive Protein (CRP) is an Acute phase protein (APP) that can be detected in blood. CRP is made by the liver to respond to infl ammation in the body. When infl ammation in the body occurs, several types of cytokines and substances act to stimulate many parts of the body to respond to infl ammation. CRP levels in the blood can be used to indicate the severity of the infl ammation that occurs in the body. It is also used to predict the incidence of certain diseases, especially cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus. CRP is commonly used to detect and observe the trend of concentration in the blood and evaluate the physical condition and progression of the disease.
